“Following the release of his new singles, the soulfully melodic and thought-provoking ‘Shine Your Light’ and the infectious summer-ready Afro fusion sounds of ‘Sometimes I Pray’, featuring UK artist Tiggs Da Author, which have both been championed by Hunger Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, FACT Magazineand leading African music tastemakers, British-Nigerian singer and songwriter Moelogo is proud to debut the excellent new music video for ‘Shine Your Light‘.
Set to feature on his forthcoming third EP Shine Your Light, the tracks – written by Moelogo with production from Jay Weathers on the EP’s title track and P2J on ‘Sometimes I Pray’ – demonstrate Moelogo’s flair for crafting captivating and uplifting material, with compelling storytelling and textured themes and concepts, with the visuals for ‘Shine Your Light’, which were premiered via Clash Music, doing well to bring the record and its message further to life.
Describing his new video for ‘Shine You Light’ which was directed by previous collaborator Kevin Hudson, Moelogo commented, “The aim was to bring the emotions from the track and play it out visually in a scenario that people could either relate to or make them think and empathise with what others might be going through. It touches on feeling alone but the message is to keep on going and never stop and ultimately to have the faith that you’re never completely alone”.
The new music follows Moelogo’s sophomore EP Ìréti, which The FADER described as “an Afropop dream” and spawned popular tracks such as ‘Some Say’ and ‘My City’, 2014’s underground hit ‘The Baddest’ featuring Giggs, and the game-changing ‘Pénkéle’. Already garnering overwhelming support from outlets such as Complex, SBTV, BBC 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Capital Xtra and some of Africa’s leading online publications, Moelogo is set to truly make his mark on the international music scene. And this is just the start!”
